Memorial Day Weekend...

Memorial Day weekend is not just the weekend that kicks off the Summer... it is also a fabulous weekend for Hudson Valley Weddings! Mike & Drew kicked off the holiday weekend at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel for a crazy wedding celebrating the marriage of the new Mr. & Mrs. Brooks! The Regency room was rockin' all night long! On Saturday Jared took the party to Dutchess Manor for Abbie's Bat Mitzvah with the plasma set up and had 100+ 13 year olds partying all night long! Jon, Ronnie and Andrew celebrated with a big wedding at the Powelton Club! 

Finally, Sunday night was a crazy party for the new Mr. & Mrs. Jonathan DeYoung at the Grandview Outdoor Ballroom. .The weather was amazing, the dance floor hopping, and Gary from Christine Studios captured it all. We are sorry we haven't been blogging... it's been a crazy few weeks for us.

On Friday May 20th, Mav was rocking the Spackenkill Sr. Prom at Le Chambord while Andrew was out and about rockin' the Webutuck Jr. Prom at The Links at Unionvale!

That Saturday, the Hudson Valley's most dynamic DJ crew was everywhere! Jared was at the Bird and Bottle Inn for the new Mr. & Mrs. Bernstein's wedding! Mike & Jon were out at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel partying hard with the new Mr. & Mrs. Pasqua! Mike Russo was keeping the kids involved at a Confirmation Party while Mav was spinning the records at a Super Sweet 16 at the Knights of Columbus in Hopewell. Drew & Mike took an evening wedding to The Links at Unionvale for the new Mr. & Mrs. McAllister! Finally, Andrew & Ronnie had a blast with two of NYC's finest.. the new Mr. & Mrs. Lizardo at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel!

Wedding Season has started... Christina & Mark!

What a night for a Thursday Night wedding at The Grandview! Christina and Mark kicked off Enriquez Entertainment's wedding season with a touch of elegance and a big bang! What a great party from the start! People were ready to go on a Thursday night and shake the winter blues away! Uplighting the entire Grandview Ballroom in Christina's color purple was incredible. We highly recommend uplighting for your upcoming Hudson Valley Wedding!

The Hudson Valley's Most Dynamic DJ's were out for an amazing winter wedding at the  Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel! Every last detail was accounted for and the weather held off (Jan was a rough month). Mike & Drew threw one crazy wedding party for Tara & Ricky's wedding! What a blast! It was an amazing Hudson Valley Wedding with a great dancing crowd from the get go! The Black Eye Peas "The Time" was a huge hit and the theme for Tara & Ricky! 8 Questions You Must Ask a Wedding Professional Before Booking Them

Hiring the right team is critical to planning your dream wedding…and it can also be quite stressful.

How do you find the right match for you?  How do you know who to trust?  Where do you go for advice?

First of all, this is not an easy task and it’s totally normal for couples to feel overwhelmed, frustrated or confused. 

It’s not like you plan a wedding every day!  This is all probably brand new to you, so be patient with yourself.

A few tips to finding the right ones for you…

• Do Your Homework.  You’ll get much more out of a meeting or conversation with a wedding professional if you do a little background homework first. 

Spend some time on the internet or talking to friends who’ve recently been married.  Find out the average prices in your area and what services are available.  Get an idea of what you like and don’t like.  Wedding websites and chat rooms can be a great resource.  This way when you meet with a wedding professional you’ll be able to ask better questions and have an idea of what to look out for.

• Meet With Them.  An in person meeting is the best way to interview a potential wedding vendor.  It lets you get the full experience of their personality, style and professionalism.  If that’s not possible, have a phone conversation.    

• Ask Questions.  There are no stupid questions!  Make sure you get clear, specific answers to your questions. If you aren't sure what something means, ask them to clarify. Keep asking questions until you completely understand.

 

If a wedding vendor has a problem with you asking questions, they probably aren’t the one for you.  The best wedding professionals are patient, understanding and take the time to help you make the best choices for your wedding.

• Listen.  Don’t just hear the words they say, really listen.  Watch the vendor’s body language.  Are they confident and comfortable with their response?  Do they look and sound nervous?  Do you get a “funny feeling” about them?  Take all the sights, sounds and feelings into account along with their responses; if your gut tells you something isn’t right, it probably isn’t.
  
  
• Check References.  Portfolios are hand-picked to show off the best work, but they may not represent the “average” wedding performance.  Videos are edited for the optimum presentation.  But real referrals from satisfied clients are hard to fake.

Call up both client and professional references.  Ask questions and use those listening skills.  Even if they give a rave review, you’ll often be able to “read between the lines” if there were any issues or problems.

Ask around and search the internet for reviews.  Check the Better Business Bureau for any outstanding complaints against the business.  Weigh all of this information into your choices.       

Here are 8 Must Ask Questions to ask ALL your potential wedding professionals before booking:

1.     How many weddings do you do per year?  How much experience do you have?

This is an extremely important question.  Ideally, your wedding professional should have ample experience specifically with weddings.  Not only will they be more skilled in their craft, this also makes them a valuable source of information and ensures that your wedding day goes smoothly.

2.     How much do you cost?

Price is often relative, especially when you factor in experience, reputation and expert skill.  Generally, the most talented professionals have a higher price tag because they are worth it. 

3.     How much is the deposit?

4.     What specifically is included in that cost?

Because packages often vary, it’s likely that you won’t be able to compare one vendor exactly to the next without doing a little figuring.  The lowest cost isn’t necessarily the best deal; some higher quotes include services that you have to pay extra for in other packages.  Make sure you take this into account. 

5.     What happens if I cancel?  What happens if you cancel?

Find out if your deposit is refundable under any conditions.  Does the wedding professional have a back up plan if something happens to them?
 

6.     Do you use a contract?

If the answer is No, RUN!  A contract is designed to protect both you and the wedding professional.  Don’t settle for a verbal agreement that won’t hold up in court.

7.     Are there any additional fees?

Taxes, service charges and travel fees can add up quickly.  Make sure you understand exactly what is included and if there are any other fees you’ll have to pay.  This should be clearly defined in your contract.

8.     Do you carry liability insurance?

The answer you’re looking for here is Yes.  This protects you in case an unfortunate accident should occur on your wedding day.  It’s also a sign that this is a reputable business, since most “fly by night” operations don’t invest in insurance.

We must give a big shout out to the new Mr. & Mrs. Ray Ortiz! Jared and Andrew were estactic to be a part of Amanda & Ray's weddig Saturday night in the Regency Room at Anthony's Pier 9 in New Windsor, NY! What an outstanding evening! We played everything from Chic's "Good Times" to LMFAO's "Shots"! It was a crazy party from the start! It is always a pleasure working with Lea & Lou Bedinotti from Bedinotti Photo! Lou was rockin' the fist pump during a few musical selections throughout the evening.. including the Black Eye Peas! We always have a good time and they do great photography work!

Sunday was a fun event as Mike & Andrew were rockin' Umberto's in Poughkeepsie for Justin & Christopher's Communion! Whether it was a super long game of limbo that had everyone out of their seats, a crazy game of musical chairs, or baseball, football, and soccer ball inflatables flying all over the place, a good time was had by all!

2/20/10 Bridget's Hudson Valley Super Sweet 16 at Germania!

Bridget's party we knew it would be a blast... we had performed at her sister's party over 3 years ago! From the get go, the kids were raring to go! We blasted house beats from Angelo Venuto's "Sweet Caroline", Daft Punk's "One More Time", to the Global Deejays, "What a Feeling". These kids came to party at Bridget's Sweet 16 and had Enriquez Entertainment, the top entertainment company for Hudson Valley Sweet 16's with them! The party was non-stop from beginning til end! The place went absolutely wild for Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance"! What a party it was! We had a great time with all of the Arlington High School kids, and hope to see you all again real soon!

7th & 8th Grade Dance - Wappingers Falls, NY - 2/18/10

Enriquez Entertainment, the home of the Hudson Valley's Most Dynamic Party DJ's were out on a Thursday night partying with some really cool 7th and 8th graders! We had a blast! The kids were all about  the music and we could barely keep up with their requests from Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" to Ke$ha's "Tik Tok", Enriquez Entertainment brought the beats and made sure the party was one the students' never would forget! Valentine's Day Dinner Dance at The Grandview - 2/14/10

What an incredible night! The Hudson Valley's Most Dynamic Wedding DJ's and Party entertainment company was out for the 2nd straight year for The Grandview's Annual Valentine's Day Dinner Dance! In just the second year, we sold it out! - 486 people came to party with one of the best Hudson Valley's DJ and Entertainment companies! From the very beginning we knew this night was going to be one to remember. With the full ambient lighting set up in red, to the gobo wishing everyone a Happy Valentine's Day rotating on the dance floor, an amazing time was had by all. The crowd was intense and didn't leave the dance floor all night. From some salsa and merengue, to the Jackson 5, to Bon Jovi, Def Leppard, and Journey, until the Black Eyed Peas and LMFAO towards the end of the night... the beats didn't stop! We also made sure to get all those special songs so that the couples could slow dance with their loved one on The Grandview's elegant dance floor! Whether it was a slow song classic or a couple's wedding song... we were sure not to disappoint! The entire staff at the Grandview was incredible as always. Brent, Margaret, J.D. & Nicole were great (they even participated in some of the fun - i.e J.D.'s fist pumping and singing on the mic to Don't Stop Believing)! The Hudson Valley's Party DJ's were rockin' the dance floor all night long!

We want to thank all of our friends, family members, co-workers and more that came out and supported us for this event! We hope you had as much fun at this event as we did... and hope that you mark your calendar's down for the 2011 version!

Janiece's Hudson Valley Sweet 16 - 2/14/10

Having a Sweet 16 on Valentine's Day night with no school scheduled on Monday was a perfect time for Janiece to celebrate her Hudson Valley Sweet 16. Mike was ready to rock Janiece's Hudson Valley Sweet 16 from start to finish! Janiece's Sweet 16 took place at the Beekman Recreation Center and from the time we started until the time we ended 5 hours later.. the kids did not stop dancing! It was a straight party with plenty of dancing, singing along, and all the kids exhibiting their best dance moves to the New Boyz and LMFAO! What a party! We had a blast with all of you guys and hope you had as much fun with us as we did! Until next time!

Hudson Valley's Most Dynamic Party & Wedding DJ's - Wappingers Jr. High Snowflake Dance

After a few weeks off we were back at it again.  It's been awhile since we had a school function and the kids are always looking for a good time! They come prepared to dance their shoes off (literally) and raring to go! From the first time we dropped the beat til the moment we were told to close up shop, the kids at Wappingers Jr. High had a blast with the Hudson Valley's Most Dynamic Party & wedding DJ's. Led by Andrew and Keith, the students' rocked out all the latest music, as well as some oldies. Whether it was Justin Bieber's "Baby" or the latest track from the New Boyz, the students swallowed it up! Even the teachers' were rocking! One of the many highlights of the night had to be the dance contest to Elvis Crespo's "Suavemente" and Michael Jackson's "Thriller". We had a blast with you guys, and we'll see you again in May!

Entertainment Choices... DJ or Band? Which way to go....

There are two concrete choices to decide upon when choosing your wedding or party entertainment. Is a DJ/Entertainment company or a Band the avenue you want to go down? 


As one of the top Hudson Valley Wedding and Party DJ companies, we have performed at hundreds of events. Many times we are the only entertainers at the function, but there have been instances where a band has been with us as well. Here are a few reasons that looks at the why hiring a formidable DJ/Entertainment company from the Hudson Valley may be a better choice than a Band. Please remember to keep in mind that your event should reflect your style and what you think will have the best positive impact on your event. 


DJ's are less expensive. You could easily spend $3500 and up on a reputable band that regularly plays receptions, while the average price for a DJ is $800 to $2000 (depending on your area).

DJs act as coordinators. We usually set the pace of your event and we coordinate with the caterer, photographer, hall, and videographer, to make you event run smoothly.

Making the Most out of Hudson Valley Bridal Shows - Tips for Bridal Show Success

A bridal show is a great way to jump in and get your feet wet. You are planning your Hudson Valley Wedding, and you are looking for the best Hudson Valley Wedding DJ's, Photographers, Videographers, Florists, Venue/Catering Facilities, Transportation Services and more! A Bridal Show is one-stop shopping for all of this. You can get a great deal of information in a short amount of time. Here are some tips that will help you succeed during your search for the best Hudson Valley wedding professionals. 

The biggest thing we can say is use the following tips as a guideline to help prepare yourself. 

# 1 - There are many Hudson Valley Bridal Shows over the next month, so familiarize yourself with the Hudson Valley Venues that are having the shows. Find out the details as to whether it is a large show or more of an intimate one. Additionally, do your research on vendors and check their websites or contact them to see if they will be attending. This is a good way for a first meeting, to see if you build a rapport and know if that vendor is a right match.

# 2 - Bridal shows typically last anywhere from 4-5 hours. If it is a larger show, you probably won't get to talk to all the vendors. However, this is a good springboard opportunity to start the conversation and then you can follow up with the vendors the following week.

# 3 - Have a wedding email account. You would like to make sure that all your vendors contact you via your wedding email account instead of a personal one. This way messages don't get mixed in the shuffle. Please keep in mind, the first few weeks of using the new email, check your spam frequently as you may have won a "door prize" from the vendor and they may have tried to contact you. Spam filters vary per server, but definitely check your spam for informative emails from vendors.

#4 - Bring the troops, the posse, the entourage! The more the merrier! Your family and friends may be able to gather more information and fill out vendor information while you get to talk to the companies. Your entourage may also think of some questions that you asked at the last vendor, but forgot this time around. You ask the same questions to so many vendors, that at some point you may forget who you asked this question, that question, etc. Your family and friends are also a big part of your Hudson Valley Wedding, so they can get a feel/vibe from each vendor and let you know their opinion as well.

#5 - Bring labels! Print out labels with your wedding information such as you and your fiancé’s name, address, best number to reach at, best email to reach you at, wedding date, and if you have it, wedding location. This will save you time for all the door prizes and more! Some vendors also bring computers and this allows you to view their website, sign up for a newsletter, enter the drawings electronically (as long as their is internet available).
